Garanti BBVA Romania launches Mr. Weekend, a campaign with extra bonuses for Bonus Card owners, aiming to encourage weekend shopping

Bucharest, April 26th – Garanti BBVA, part of Garanti BBVA Group Romania, one of the most dynamic financial groups on the local market, introduces Mr. Weekend, a new campaign designed to encourage Bonus Card owners to enjoy the benefits of shopping during weekends. Starting April 30th, all Garanti BBVA customers who use Bonus Card for purchases on Saturdays and Sundays will receive extra bonus of up to 10% at selected online retailers and stores.

Garanti BBVA aims to bring added value to the current customer shopping experience with the help of consistent incentives and an entertaining communication platform.

The Bonus Card customer benefit campaign presented by its central fictional character Mr. Weekend – played by actor Adrian Nicolae – will run every weekend up to the 10th of July, with the first video in the series being released on Friday, 22nd April, on bonuscard.ro and the bank’s social media platforms. During the campaign, Garanti BBVA and its partners will provide extra bonus for purchases in the following categories: home design and decorations, fashion, jewellery, electronics and appliances, toys, and tourism.

“Bonus Card is one of Garanti BBVA’s top products and has brought a lot of special benefits to our loyal customers since its launch in 2007. And our offers continue. We are launching the Mr. Weekend campaign to encourage Romanians to make the most of their weekends, while taking advantage of the incentives of Bonus Card. We are happy to develop this project in the company of strong and well-known partners from various fields and to be able to offer substantial bonuses on diverse purchases, be it holidays, clothes, toys, or appliances. I trust in the success of Mr. Weekend and I hope that many of you will enjoy the campaign and discover a multitude of attractive offers”, stated Emre Unal, Cards Director Garanti BBVA.

The added benefits for Garanti BBVA customers will be promoted in a 7-episode sitcom/video series featuring Mr. Weekend as the spokesperson who introduces the extra bonuses and partner categories in a unique way. To build awareness for the communication platform, a large-scale media campaign will run on several channels, from social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube and TikTok, to radio and Garanti BBVA` agencies, all details and content being available on bonuscard.ro

Bonus Card is Romania’s first chip-based multi-branded credit card. Customers can use it to purchase whatever they may need at any merchant in Romania or abroad that has MasterCard’s seal of approval. Bonus Card benefits are available in over 6,000 online and offline partner stores.
