The partnership Garanti BBVA – RoGBC started in 2018 and since then, the bank has benefited from the non-profit association’s expertise in promoting environmental responsibility and energy efficiency during the life cycle of a building, from constructions to operating phase.
“Garanti BBVA Romania affirmed Sustainability as one of its strategic priorities, as we strongly believe that operating this way can represent a key driver to the long-term success of a company, but also a contribution to protecting our environment. Thus, the partnership with RoGBC was the right step to take, as it provides us with the necessary support to expand our expertise on green buildings, an area of interest for Garanti BBVA. Moreover, the collaboration with RoGBC allows us to encourage our customers in making sustainable choices, and our dedicated loan in this respect is already available”, stated Anca Motcă, Deputy General Manager at Garanti BBVA Romania.
Garanti BBVA, in collaboration with RoGBC, launched an innovative financial product – Eco House, a green loan granting to individuals for acquiring green residential units certified as such by RoGBC. In the future, Garanti BBVA will continue to focus on green financing, in line with its commitment to Sustainability as a financial group.
“We are glad that Garanti BBVA Romania has joined the Green Homes & Green Mortgage program within the international “SMARTER finance for families” initiative, to support the construction of sustainable homes, with a positive impact on the planet and future generations”, said Dr. Ec. Monica Ardeleanu – Executive Director, Romania Green Building Council.
The Romania Green Building Council has developed a low-cost, but comprehensive, Green Homes certification to assess and recognize the top-performing residential projects utilizing sustainable construction principles.
